Accommodation Options: We have single bedroom cottages and two bedroom or three bedroom villas for you to choose from.


Jungle Cottage:

Jungle Cottage is the premium cottage we have because of the view it offers. The Jungle cottage has one bedroom, attached and fully functional bathroom, one balcony and an open sun-deck that faces the meadows, the waterhole, the jungle and the mountains beyond! It is ideal for 2 or 3 adults, it'll have a double bed and a single bed in the spacious room. You will be able to see animals right from your balcony it self.

Jungle Cottage




Twin Cottage:

Rs 2000 per person per night including breakfast, Rs 2750 per person per night including breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee/tea, snacks

The Twin Cottage has one bedroom, one fully equipped bathroom, and one large balcony. These are the largest rooms we have in the Retreat and it cam comfortably sleep 2 to 3 adults. It has one large double bed and one single bed in the room, the large balcony faces the jungle and also gives a partial view of the meadows and waterhole.

Twin Cottage



Jungle Villa:

Rs 2250 per person per night including breakfast, Rs 3000 per person per night including breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee/tea, snacks

The Jungle Villa has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies and a large sundeck all under one roof and it is ideal for extended families or a group of friends. It has an entry room where we can arrange a double bed, and the Villa can accommodate 4 to 6 adults comfortably. The Villa is set close to the boundary of the jungle, and it is built on pillars 10 feet from the ground.

Lunch in the outdoor gazebo.
Enjoy veg and non-veg delicacies served during lunch in the outdoor gazebo overlooking the meadows. You are very likely to see spotted deer walking around in the meadows while your are having lunch. Keep your camera handy as you never know what is likely to walk in to the grasslands.

Relax in the farm.
Visit our infotainment centre and read up on the local flora, fauna and tribes. You will get ample information about the various tribes in this area and you'll also get an idea about the animals and birds you are likely to see in Wayanad. Or you can just put your feet up and relax in the farm, enjoy the view from your balcony.

Evening Tea/Coffee served in your balcony.
This is probably the best time to see animals in our farm. By this time the Elephants and Gaur should be in the meadows coming to the watering-hole for a drink and then to graze around. This is also the time when the resident wild-dog pack is active, and there is a chance that they'd come out for a drink. You can either sit in your balcony and enjoy the view or walk to the watchtower to see the animals up close without disturbing them. Enjoy the views as you sip on your coffee/tea.

Visit the animal farm.
This one is a favorite with both children and adults! We have a small farm with Rabbits, Guinea pigs, Ducks, Swans, Hen and more, and you can feed the animals, watch them at close quarters in the enclosed area. A great way to settle in, before you embark on exciting wilderness related adventures.

Malabar Giant Squirrel walk.
Take a small trek on the road to see the Giant Malabar Squirrels and it's nesting trees. These squirrels are the largest in the world, the males are close to 1 meter long, covered in dark maroon fur. Our trained guide would take you for the leisurely walk explaining what you are likely to see.

Camp-fire @ night near the jungle stream.
Drive through the jungle at night to a remote jungle stream, enjoy camp-fire on the banks, experience the sights & sounds of the jungle.
During the drive, there is every chance of seeing the animals on the road in their natural surroundings and the river bank is an ideal place to soak in the jungle, while listening to our in-house naturalist talk about his experiences in the wild. You may want to carry warm clothing as you sit under the starlit sky, enjoying the camp-fire, listening to the jungle around you. (Weather Permitting)

Dinner in Jungle Retreat Wayanad.
The dinner will be served in the outdoor gazebo, will have both veg and non-veg delicacies. You are very likely to be dining with elephants, gaur and deer grazing in the meadows on the other side of the electric fence. You should be able to observe them in the moonlight as you enjoy your dinner.

Early morning coffee / tea
We will serve morning coffee / tea in your balcony. We recommend an early start to the day, early morning are the best time for wildlife sightings in the meadows and the birds will be most active then as well. You may want to go to our watchtower and spend time there since there is every chance of you spotting animals during that time. Don't forget to take your binoculars and camera, you never know what is likely to make an appearance!

Sumptuous Breakfast will be served in the outdoor gazebo.
The breakfast will include continental and Indian dishes. As always, you never know what will walk out into the meadows, maybe it an an otter coming to fish in the fishing pond near the gazebo or it maybe the serpent eagle hovering around or maybe there are elephants enjoying a bath in the watering-hole; it is best to have your camera ready just in case you get lucky with sightings.

Guided Jungle Awareness Trek (3km) around our farm with a trained guide to experience sights & sounds of the wild.
We highly recommend that you wear earth-coloured clothes such as dull browns or forest green while going for the trek. Do bring sunscreen with high protection factor, wear a comfortable hat, and don't use perfumes before the trek. A good trekking shoes will come in handy for the trek, get your camera charged and ready and don't forget your binoculars. Our farm is surrounded by protected reserves on all sides and there is every chance that you will see animals (direct signs or indirect) during your trek. The naturalist will explain the sights and sounds you are likely to experience and this trek will definitely give you an in-depth understanding and appreciation of the Indian jungles.

Day 1:

Check-in @ 1:00 pm
Enjoy a warm welcome, we'll take you to the campsite, you can relax, settle in with a farm-fresh welcome drink while we set up the tents for you. You can park your car in the parking area and walk down - a short minute-long walk to the campsite. You will notice that the campsite is breathtakingly beautiful with greenery all around. You will notice the majestic Brahmagiri mountain range in the North, and the Kalindi river on the south, beyond which the lush jungle starts! You will also notice that there is absolutely no human intrusion and it'd feel as though you are in your own private paradise - undisturbed, untouched by mankind! The tribal chief will be your guard and he will make sure that you are safe and comfortable at any given point in time, and he will see to it that he is available right throughout your stay. What is more, we provide tents for you to sleep in along with sleeping bags and we also have proper, fully functional restrooms right in the campsite so that you don't have to rough it out if you don't want to!

Lunch by the jungle stream.
Enjoy veg and non-veg delicacies served during lunch near the jungle stream. This is a very safe, private area with no intrusions so that you can be yourself! Put your feet in the jungle stream and enjoy the fresh-cooked lunch!

Relax in the campsite.
Relax in the large campsite full of large trees and explore the area. The stream is very safe with the water flowing gently over the rocks, making it an ideal place to jump in and take a dip; an ideal escape from the afternoon sun! The stream is teeming with all kinds of fish big and small, and so if you'd like to try your hand fishing, we could provide you a with basic fishing gear, or bring one with you!

Visit Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary
We will serve morning coffee / tea in your balcony. We recommend an early start to the day, early morning are the best time for wildlife sightings in the meadows and the birds will be most active then as well. Gear up for the safari drive inside Tholpetty Sanctuary, it is best to wear earthly, dull colour clothes such as dull browns or greens. Take your camera, binoculars as well, you will get a lot of photo opportunities. We will arrange a jeep to take you from our farm to Tholpetty forest check post. Private vehicles are not allowed inside the forest, so can take a forest jeep (to be paid extra) to experience the safari drive inside the Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary which is famous for Elephants, Gaur, Tigers and Leopards. You will be accompanied by a trained guide during the drive. Once the 1 hour safari is done, our vehicle will be waiting for you to bring you back to the farm and there is every chance of seeing animals during the drive to and from our farm as it is through the jungle.

Visit our infotainment centre and read up on the local flora, fauna and tribes. You will get ample information about the various tribes in this area and you'll also get an idea about the animals and birds you are likely to see in Wayanad. Or you can just put your feet up and relax in the farm, enjoy the view from your balcony.

This is probably the best time to see animals in our farm. By this time the Elephants and Gaur should be in the meadows coming to the watering-hole for a drink and then to graze around. This is also the time when the resident wild-dog pack is active, and there is a chance that they'd come out for a drink. You can either sit in your balcony and enjoy the view or walk to the watchtower to see the animals up close without disturbing them. Enjoy the views as you sip on your coffee/tea.

This one is a favorite with both children and adults! We have a small farm with Rabbits, Guinea pigs, Ducks, Swans, Hen and more, and you can feed the animals, watch them at close quarters in the enclosed area. A great way to settle in, before you embark on exciting wilderness related adventures.

Malabar Giant Squirrel walk.
Take a small trek on the road to see the Giant Malabar Squirrels and it's nesting trees. These squirrels are the largest in the world, the males are close to 1 meter long, covered in dark maroon fur. Our trained guide would take you for the leisurely walk explaining what you are likely to see.

Drive through the jungle at night to a remote jungle stream, enjoy camp-fire on the banks, experience the sights & sounds of the jungle.
During the drive, there is every chance of seeing the animals on the road in their natural surroundings and the river bank is an ideal place to soak in the jungle, while listening to our in-house naturalist talk about his experiences in the wild. You may want to carry warm clothing as you sit under the starlit sky, enjoying the camp-fire, listening to the jungle around you. (Weather Permitting)

Visit Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary
We will serve morning coffee / tea in your balcony. We recommend an early start to the day, early morning are the best time for wildlife sightings in the meadows and the birds will be most active then as well. Gear up for the safari drive inside Tholpetty Sanctuary, it is best to wear earthly, dull colour clothes such as dull browns or greens. Take your camera, binoculars as well, you will get a lot of photo opportunities. We will arrange a jeep to take you from our farm to Tholpetty forest check post. Private vehicles are not allowed inside the forest, so can take a forest jeep (to be paid extra) to experience the safari drive inside the Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary which is famous for Elephants, Gaur, Tigers and Leopards. You will be accompanied by a trained guide during the drive. Once the 1 hour safari is done, our vehicle will be waiting for you to bring you back to the farm and there is every chance of seeing animals during the drive to and from our farm as it is through the jungle.

As always, you never know what will walk out into the meadows, maybe it an an otter coming to fish in the fishing pond near the gazebo or it maybe the serpent eagle hovering around or maybe there are elephants enjoying a bath in the watering-hole; it is best to have your camera ready just in case you get lucky with sightings.

Guided Jungle Awareness Trek (3km) around our farm with our naturalist to experience sights & sounds of the wild.
We highly recommend that you wear earth-coloured clothes such as dull browns or forest green while going for the trek. Do bring sunscreen with high protection factor, wear a comfortable hat, and don't use perfumes before the trek. A good trekking shoes will come in handy for the trek, get your camera charged and ready and don't forget your binoculars. Our farm is surrounded by protected reserves on all sides and there is every chance that you will see animals (direct signs or indirect) during your trek. The naturalist will explain the sights and sounds you are likely to experience and this trek will definitely give you an in-depth understanding and appreciation of the Indian jungles.

2 hour safari drive inside Nagarahole National Park arranged by Jungle Lodges & Resorts (JLR).
Gear up for the safari drive inside Nagarahole National Park, it is best to wear earthly, dull colour clothes such as dull browns or greens. Take your camera, binoculars as well, you will get a lot of photo opportunities. We will arrange a jeep to take you through the jungle to Nagarahole National Park. It is a 40 minute drive through the jungle and once there, the JLR vehicle will be waiting for you (to be paid extra) and take the safari inside the park. Nagarahole is also known as the Tiger capital of the world, since it has the highest number and highest density of wild Tigers anywhere in the world. Once the 2 hour safari is done, our jeep will be waiting for you and you have every chance of seeing animals during the drive back to the farm which is through the jungle. JLR safaris are rated as the best safari drives in South India and you'll be accompanied by trained professional guides from the forest department. Including the up-and-down drive from our farm, you'll be spending close to 5 hours exploring Nagarahole National Park.

Brahmagiri trek - all day deep jungle trek.
Brahmagiri peak is at an elevation of 2500 ft and it is best to wear earth coloured light cotton clothes, full sleeves for this trek. Don't forget sunscreen, a good hat, and good walking shoes will help immensely as well. Take your camera, binoculars as well, you will get a lot of photo opportunities. We will arrange a jeep to take you to the starting point of the Brahmagiri trek which is just 5 minutes drive from our farm. You can hire a forest guide from there (to be paid extra) and he will take you deep into the jungle/mountain. It is a 12Km trek up and down and we'll arrange packed lunch for you to carry as the entire trek will be through the jungle. It is a very scenic trek and you are likely to see animals during the trek. The guide, mostly a tribal guide, will keep you safe.

A 3km around our farm with the naturalist in search of the various types of birds in and around this area. The activity is split into 2 halves. The first hour is spent on foot looking for birds and the 2nd hour is spent in the bird blind where the birds are likely to come. The camouflaged bird blind gives a great opportunity for great photos.

Star Jungle Awareness Trek:
Jungle awareness trek is a 3 KM trek (90 minutes) around our retreat and there is every chance of you seeing animals during this trek. You will be accompanied by a highly trained guide/naturalist who will explain to you the sights and sounds that you are likely to come across during the trek. Jungle awareness trek is all about giving you an in-depth understanding of the Indian jungles.
What to carry:
Good walking shoes, camouflage or dull coloured full sleeve clothes, cap or hat, camera, mobile phone, water bottle, trekking poles, binoculars, guide books
Cost: Rs 500 per person



Star Night drive and campfire by the riverside:
We start the drive towards the remote jungle stream by around 7 PM, and there is a high likelihood of animal sightings en-route to the jungle stream. There are a few animal crossing points along the road and animal sightings are very common on this remote jungle road that we take to reach the campfire spot. The campfire is arrange right next to the Kalindi river which cuts through the jungle and it is an amazing experience to listen to the stream and the jungles all around you while you enjoy local delicacies cooked on open fire. You will be accompanied by a trained guide and also a Tribal leader and it is a good opportunity to interact with them and listen to their experiences. We will be back in the Retreat by around 9:30 PM.
What to carry:
Jacket or a shawl to ward off the cold, a torch, mobile phones.
Cost: Rs 500 per person



Star 2.5 hour long wildlife safari in Nagarahole National Park:
We have a tie up with Kabini and Nagarahole and we highly recommend the safaris provided by them. The safari drives last 2.5 hours and you'll be accompanied by an expert guide/tracker in the vehicle. Nagarahole has a very high number of Tigers and you are very likely to see Tigers during this drive, along with other animals. The safari is very professionally conducted and if you are a wildlife lover, it is a must-do. It is a 20 minute drive from the Retreat to the starting point of the safari and you can use your vehicle to do so, the jungle roads are very motorable.
What to carry:
Camouflage or dull coloured clothes, cap or hat, camera, mobile phone, water bottle, binoculars, guide books

Star Camping in the wilderness:
This is a very unique activity that we provide, where we take you to the remote Northern-most part of our Retreat. The idea is to find an ideal camping spot, collect firewood, collect water, get your hammocks, sleeping bag set up and get ready to spend the night in the wilderness under the starlit sky with no human beings around for miles! You will cook the dinner on open fire, we will take marinated chicken, noodles, eggs, soup, vegetables, fruits. coffee/tea for the night. The location is so remote that you'll feel you are the only human beings in the world and you will not see or hear any man-made sights or sounds during your camping. Once the night sets in, that is when you will realize how alive the jungle is. You will be spending time around the fire which will keep you warm and safe and you will also be accompanied by a highly trained naturalist and a local Tribal elder who knows the jungle better than any. The idea is to experience the wilderness up close and it is also a unique opportunity to learn some of the survival skills such as starting a fire, finding a purifying water, setting up a temporary camp and more! We do not take more than one family or one group at a time for this activity and it'd be a very private experience and we'd also make sure that you are safe. After spending the night in the wilderness, we will walk back to your cottage the next morning in time for your breakfast.

Star Spending the night in the watchtower in the wilderness:
This is another unique activity that we provide, where we take you to the remote watch tower at the Western end of our Retreat. We have a large, sturdy watchtower 20 feet high facing the jungles and there is every possibility of you seeing animals while on the watch tower. We will reach the watch tower by 5:00 pm, set you hammock, sleeping bag ready, we'll carry a flask of hot tea or coffee along with sandwich and fruits, that would be the dinner for the night. There is a basic toilet in the watchtower, so you don't have to leave the watchtower till the next morning. The idea is to listen to the sights and sounds of the jungle in the night, which is when the jungle comes alive. You are very likely to see animals from your watchtower and the idea is to observe them silently without disturbing them. This is a must-do for a wildlife lover! We take only one family with us, it will be a safe and very private experience. After spending the night in the watchtower, we will walk back to your cottage the next morning in time for your breakfast.
