From time to time, we post our latest news onto this page, so please check often to stay informed. We collect data on animal sighting based on the sightings we have inside the retreat and during the safari drives we arrange for our guests. More often than not, we have better wildlife sightings right from the retreat itself - the watchtower overlooking the meadows and the waterhole is an ideal place if you are a wildlife enthusiast.

The worst summer in recorded history!

Simply put, this is the worst summer we have ever experienced – it is so bad that the water situation in and around this area is dire! Though the temperature is still very moderate (30 Deg C in the afternoon and 18 Deg C in the night), the availability of water is what makes this summer brutal. 

We have made multiple waterholes for the animals, and we have regular sightings from the treehouses and cottages it self. Those who have stayed with us would know, we don’t disturb the animals in any way, and clubbed with the fact that the forest is completely dry, animals make a bee-line towards our waterholes and since there is enough water here, the waterholes are always busy. We have had multiple Tiger sightings in and around the waterholes and the Dholes have started hunting in the meadows regularly. 

With the rains still a few months away, the situation is only going to worsen, but we will have to ensure that there is enough water for the animals.
